Hopeless Mischief
« on: June 29, 2010, 09:45:05 PM »
((OOC: Another rp moved to the forums. ^ - ^;; ))

The Hare darted out of the Random Shop, holding his shopping list Ayaka gave him in one hand and a small wad of bills in the other. Because of the nature of the shop he worked at, he wore a costume suited to his work. Today had been a frilly day and thus was decked out in a pink dress as he hurried down the street. Hopefully, Marchy wouldn't have to go very far to get what they needed.

~

Rex wandered through Hopeless. He seemed bored after having been thrown out of the tea party along with the others. He thought he'd seen the Hare head off this way, and so far the tiny thing was his only real source of amusement around these parts, as infuriating as he was.

~

Taking a short cut through one of the surprisingly clean alleys, the Hare darted out onto a different street, weaving through the crowd with some grace. He much preferred the straight runs, but this would have to do. The trader should have what Sato needed, but, if not, then he would have to travel to White City.

These thoughts distracted him to the point of running into someone firm, making him stumble backwards.

~

Rex stopped, feeling something soft bounce off of him. He frowned and looked down at the offending fluff ball before blinking with wild surprise. "Hello there, Bunbun," he crooned, smirking at his outfit. Naughty thoughts dancing through his head at the sight.

~

"Y-your majesty," the Hare stuttered, eyes wide as he bowed quickly. His actions drew the attention of some of those around them, but the brunette didn't notice. "H-how have you been since the tea party?"

Meeting the king again felt awkward since he didn't really remember how they had parted last time. He wasn't the type to brush anyone off, though, so he smiled as best as he could at the guy who still made him feel rather nervous.

~

"Lovely. I see you've been doing well, who dressed you up so pretty?" he asked, reaching out and grasping the hem of March Hare's pretty dress. "You looked absolutely precious Bunbun, truly."

~

"Oh, th-thank you," the Hare murmured, tilting his head down as he watched Rex's hand go to the hem of his costume dress. "U-umm... Miss Ayaka said this was what I was to wear today for work. I'm on my way to pick up some supplies."

"Miss Ayaka, Eh?" Rex rubbed his fingers over the material before releasing it again. "So you have a job? Well isn't that special. Where's Pigeon?" he asked lightly, glancing around usually where there was March Hare there was an angry little Alice girl in tow. He surreptitiously put an arm around the other. "Allow me to accompany you on your errand Bunbun?" He said in a way that was clear it wasn't a question. He glanced around the little town, there weren't many others around it was much nicer than the city with its many robotic critters running about.

"Oh, um, Alice is around here somewhere," the Hare murmured thoughtfully, staring off into nothing for a second before snapping back to reality. "Th-that's ok, I guess? If you wish to accompany me, that's alright."

Padding forward, the Hare hardly noticed the arm around his shoulders. He knew better than to run with the King with him, but Sato wanted those ingredients now. The poor thing hurried as much as he could without being rude.

Rex sauntered along beside him. "So what are you fetching, bunbun?" He asked mildly. Keeping an eye out for Alice. He hadn't seen the hare in while not since the tea party and he was beginning to wonder if anyone else had tried to get at the silly creature in his absence. He was a cute, stupid thing and easy prey. He yawned silently, looking down to the Hare with a slight smirk.

"Sato needs more confectioner's sugar, powdered sugar, cherries, strawberries, pineapple, pecans, almonds, and... blue food coloring," the Hare read off the list, not looking where he was going. In other words, he needed to drop by the tiny store that only provided the things that couldn't be produced by the families easily and then by each of the stores for the individual fruits and nuts.

The redhead's candy business was really lifting off and that meant he need more supplies than he had been getting. At least, that's what he told the Hare.

She pushed and shoved through the entrance into the city of Hopeless for today was a busy day for the trade. She had found this out just recently. A quick roll of her eyes soon followed her next squeeze through a fairly large person and a basket of apples and other fruits. Finally managing to get out in the open, she looked up to the sky, her eyes of slate and green glistening in the sunlight's rays. A breeze brought her wavy blonde hair to a rustle. She tilted her head down to look forward, a glossy window catching her eye to the right of her. She turned to see her reflection in the glare set upon the shop's window.

Her hands were suddenly brought to her mouth quickly to suppress a silent scream of joy and shock.

Im...Im....young..., was all she could tell her self.

Stepping a little closer to she concentrated harder at her self's reflection touching here and there on her face and feeling the elasticity of her skin. It didnt sag? It didnt hang? No wrinkles...She was....young

The Dutches turned around with a feminine pose and smiled lively. Her proper way of holding herself gave off a sense of past times and formal qualities radiated from her facial expressions. A woman of old taste and hopeless "prince charming" romantics. She was a Dutches of no name. She was just...Duchess

Turning to walk down the sidewalk upon the shops and trade posts, her eyes suddenly began to pick up on the image of a man of red hair and a boy with bunny ears and a pink frilly dress.

"How peculiar...much indeed.", she spoke to herself in a accent most would say it be English.

Picking up the skirt of her voluptuous green dress, she hurried to catch up with the two walking rather quickly as well to what seemed like another store.

"I must know if it is him or not. That face is just to familiar...", she said under her breath as she huffed and began to walk quicker to catch up, her tightly tied boots clattering upon the stone road way.

Rex sauntered along beside him, that was until he heard the tell tale click of high heeled boots approaching at a healthy pace. He paused, pulling the hare closer and making a half turn to see who was coming so close. The king arched an eyebrow spying the Duchess, wondered as to why why she was hurrying towards them at such a pace. Rex tilted his chin up, considering her appearance with one blue-green eye, She seemed faintly familiar but he couldn't quite place where he'd seen her before. The red head looked down at the hare. "Do you know that woman, Bunbun?" he cooed softly.

"What? Who?" The Hare asked quickly, looking around in confusion. Most of the women in the area were native to the town, so he wasn't quite sure which one the King was asking about and his head was still set on doing the errand right so that Sato would be happy when he got back to the shop. So far, the Hare had been focused on remembering where certain shops were, not who owned which shops, though many were obvious by their names.

"Which one, your majesty?"

Her steps began to slow as the man she had thought to be oddly familiar showed his face. An eye patch shaped like a heart was snug tight upon his eye. The same smirk at the edge of his lips hid itself like it always had. What she had thought to be an odd person in the crowd quickly had come to be...the king

"Uh-uh, yo-your MAJESTY! Is that you by chance?", she stuttered at first but then proclaimed the title of the man before her louder than she had intended to. How could she not? If he was the king then even more greeting was in due.

A swift bow of her head and curtsy of her thin legs soon took after loud statement. Quickly coming up from her bow, she held her head piece up in doing so to not allow it to tilt. She had always hated the wearing of the massive head garments. They tended to get in the way a lot. Looking the king or what seemed to be the king up and down, her thoughts becoming more clear and clearer. But the rabbit boy beside him still didnt ring any sort of bell in her mind.

The Hare's ears went back at the sound of the woman's yelling. Whomever she was, he was not pleased to meet her. At this point, she was rather scary and loud and pushy. Scooting closer to Rex, the Hare peered around him to look at the lady, but made sure to keep the King between him and the woman.

Because of her yelling, there were people staring at the three of them, but mostly the woman and Rex. There were murmurs about her being crazy, but even more from the single ladies of Hopeless about a possible rich man. Even without this new development, there were appreciative stares his direction and glares at the Hare since he looked so feminine.

The Hare was already Female Enemy #1 since Sato let him cling when he was scared and such. This new thing with Rex wasn't making him look any better.

She drew back at little at the sudden disturbance she had just caused. This land was very different indeed she had come to realize. Shaking her head in discomfort of the situation, this causing her head piece to wobble a little, she soon looked up to the man she had pronounced as King.

"I may have you mistaken for someone but please do tell me your name. I am lost within cities upon cities and I can not seem to find anything that I am looking for.", he asked almost in a plea to the man of red-orange hair.

Her hand clasped together in front of her, her dress supporting them in a slight tilted manner due to its over-sized fluffing and tool. Style in Wonderland had seemed to reside within the olden days with masquerade, balls, and royalty decor. She had grown quite fond of it honestly. Her eyes soon rested upon the bunny boy cowering behind the man's legs. She held back a humorous thought as she noticed that not only did it have on a frilly dress, but bloomers to match it as well.

Such a peculiar thing to wear..., she managed to release in her mind silently.

(( >.< Give me a chance to respond, eh?))

Rex blinked as he was called after, turning slowly as he heard the words 'Your majesty' He looked with an arched eyebrow. He felt like he should recognize this woman. She seemed to familiar, and she obviously knew who he was...but it wasn't ringing any bells it seemed.
"Do I know you madame?"
He asked, studying her appearance with appreciation. She was a lovely woman. He glanced down to the hare who was trying to hide behind him and the townsfolk who were looking on with varying degrees of curiosity. Finally he continued
"I am King Rex of the Kingdom of hearts...Who are you?"
He spoke with his trademark imperial tone, still trying to place this woman. His clothes had changed drastically with his arrival here. He looked quite a sight in his favorite striking black coat, sharp shiny boots and darkly colored scarf. More than once he'd been mistaken for a 'hunter' as the people of this world so quaintly called it.

The Hare was starting to really dislike this woman and he couldn't help but glare at her, though on his face it looked like more of a pout. She was causing all this fuss for a reason he couldn't understand. There were still people staring, having heard the man confirm that he was a king, no matter that they had no idea where his kingdom was. His response seemed a little silly to those who knew their geography.

'There was no such thing as a Kingdom of Hearts!'

A smile spread across her face as his tone penetrated the silence she was fearing. So he was the king. Dressed a little differently than he should have been, but all in all...he was the King.

"You may not recognize me your majesty", she started as she bowed kindly and came back up again holding her head piece while doing so. As she adjusted her head piece and smoothed down her dress she forced a smile and introduced herself, "I am The Dutchess your majesty..."

She looked down to the boy again and almost let out a annoyed sigh. It seemed he didnt like her presence almost as much as she did not like his dress.

Rex stopped himself from recoiling. The Dutchess? This lovely thing was once that old hag? his lips twitched into an almost smiled.
"Ah, yes, Dutchess." He cooed softly.
"You were kicked out as well. I see the jump was very kind to you." He went on, pointedly ignoring the curious stares and whispers from the crowd. Nosy little twits. He crossed his arms loosely, looking down at the Hare. He didn't understand the other's sudden shift in mood, he couldn't remember a time when the little rabbit boy didn't want to hug and love everyone. Ridiculous little creature. He gave an absent tug to Bunbun's ear, looking back to the Dutchess. He tilted his head to the side, waiting for the woman to explain herself.

The tug on his ear made him whine and clutch them close. Flat to his head as they were, it wasn't hard. Sato was going to be displeased with him for taking so long on his errand and the entire point of doing this was to make Sato happy.

As much as he didn't mind the King, though Hatty might be vexed with him the next they met, the Hare thought that this speaking with the annoying lady was unnecessary. Wasn't the Dutchess the sister of the Queen? Or maybe she was somebody else?

The Hare didn't know and didn't care. He was already going to be late and just the thought of how Sato would scowl and refuse to let him try his new candy made him want to cry. Being rude to Rex was out of the question, but Sato needed the ingredients.

So he fussed and glared and was sullen.

The king was flattering...almost too flattering. But it still managed to keep a smile on her face. The horror she had heard of the things he and her sister, The Red Queen of Hearts. Now those two were a DYNAMITE duo. Extremists that saw it put that things were done their way. She suddenly snapped back into reality.

"Yes...if thats what you would like to call it. I happened to be walking when the earth beneath me gave way. And now...", she lifted her arms and looked them both up and down, and then flopped them to her sides, "Im like this. Its a miracle but oddly moving all in all. What ever could make this happen my lord?", She asked with enthusiasm almost.

She looked at the crowd forming around them. It seemed their conversation was quite...amusing.

"And you. What in heavens happened to you Hare!", her nose quickly could smell it for sure, "Yes, you. That awful look in your eyes. I could almost dismiss you as him but I can smell the smell of that tea anywhere. Look whats happened to you...", she let out a cackle like laugh, one showing her age in her maturity level.

Her laugh faded off as she settled down. She looked around with a blank look. They, well at least she was not fitting in. Even in a trade center town it seemed.

Rex pause din his response, blue-green eye flitting up to study the people who'd gathered around them. His lips curled easily into a sneer
"Can we help you?" he barked, looking every bit as dangerous as he was. He was tired of being stared and giggled at, bunch of country bumpkins.  Rex put one hand on the Hare's head, stroking one ear with his thumb. He then looked back to the Dutchess
"I haven't the slightest idea my dear Dutchess." He answered smoothly, watching her laugh and reminded with another tinge of disgust of what she'd been in Wonderland.

The Hare was at his limit and the hand on his head only made him twitch. This woman was annoying with her unpleasant voice and her ugly laugh. He was quite happy how he was if not where he was because of the lack of Hatty. What right did she have to point and guffaw like he was something to be ashamed of?

"I'm happy as I am, no matter what, and what do you have to laugh about, you old hag? Just because you look younger than the dinosaur you are doesn't change your goat face or your braying like a donkey! With such manners that you show and your hardly improved looks, you must have been raised in a barn. I wouldn't be surprised if any kids you have look like pigs!"

Marchy was shaking with how angry he was and there was a definite mad glint in his eyes. If he weren't so overcome, he would undoubtedly be scaring himself. So caught up in his madness, he didn't notice that the crowd had dispersed or that there was a familiar person marching up behind him, making no effort to muffle his footsteps.
The March Hare took the watch and looked at it gloomily: then he dipped it into his cup of tea, and looked at it again: but he could think of nothing better to say than his first remark, 'It was the best butter, you know.'

"And what do you think you're doing?!" Sato demanded and ignored the hand on the Hare, latching onto the his shoulders and dragging him a few feet away. "You were taking so long, I thought you had gotten lost again and I had to send Alice out for the ingredients I originally sent you for!"

Turning the bunny-eared boy around, the redhead shook him lightly, glaring down at the flustered boy. He completely ignored the weirdos nearby because they weren't important enough to address until he had finished scaring the Hare. If Ayaka had been around, he would have sent her instead of tracking his useless helper himself.

If Sashi version 2.0 was free, he could have sent it, but it had yet to return from the creepy town for the much more rare ingredients he didn't trust with the Hare.

"Ayaka would kill me if I lost her 'precious bunbun', so take a bit more care, would you?! I've got a business to run and don't have time to go running off after you every time you get distracted by a butterfly and follow it to find if it's someone you know or if you find some other redhead to annoy, dammit!"

She gritted her teeth, their glossy finish sliding her jaws forward. She was suddenly infuriated at the crowd and mostly at the Hare. He of all people knew what had happened to her son. Her precious baby, even tho he cried...oh he cried so much. It was a both honestly but it was all due to his allergies and her awful maid who thought she could cook. Her help was so mediocre lately, wonderland toiling like it was.

"You filthy rodent! How dare you talk to me like that! You are lucky you look sensible be it that your old self look tattered! Enjoy this while you can, for I will be doing so as well! Farewell imbecile...", she finished looking up to the king and back to the man taking the hare off as she let out a hard breath.

She had such a bad temper. It seemed that was hereditary due to her sister's habit of cutting off people's heads in a heart beat. Literally.

"So where does this leave you and I? Do you travel alone or was that your companion through the city that was just taken barely??", she asked in a more polished tone. She was going to have to get used to this sudden change to her physical self.

Rex set his jaw watching the ill-tempered red head take Bunbun off to the side. This irked him, he had been playing with that...

The king flashed a look to the Dutchess, Raising one finger he flashed a charming smile and moved towards where Sato and Bunbun were.
"Oh, dear." He intoned, standing over Sato as he seemed to be punishing the Hare.
"Does this belong to you?" he went on mildly Speaking to Sato in a very relaxed nearly pleasant sort of way. He was clearly annoyed with the little hare for whatever reason, it seemed the little twit had gotten himself a job making deliveries. He didn't know if he cared to abide by that, now that he'd found the long eared little citizen of Wonderland and the Kingdom of Hearts he'd be taking him with him.

"I'm so~orry~y, Sa~ato~o! I didn't want to take so long, but that woman was holding us up and I just wanted to get everything and make you happy~y," the Hare sobbed, covering his face with his paws - no, hands. Why did that woman have to ambush them like that and make him late?

It was rather embarrassing to be scolded like this in front of Rex, but there wasn't anything he could do about it. His ears and tail were both limp, entire body curling down and away to show how upset he was about disappointing Sato who had been so nice to him even when Ayaka wasn't breathing down his neck.

Knowing exactly how the Hare would react, Sato ignored him for the moment to take a good look at who was addressing him. The man was a bit taller than him and wore an eye patch, which was suspicious, but the Hare seemed to know him.

"He's not mine, no, but my boss lady adopted him and he's been helping around the shop. There is a girl named Alice there, too. Do you know either of them?" Sato asked, slinging an arm around the pitiful boy and pulling him into a half-hug to calm him down. This, of course, worked like a charm as he knew it would. The poor, little thing was so easy to please.

Now that the scolding was taken care of, he could fix what he noticed when he was approaching. Reaching around the Hare, Sato pulled down the back of his pink dress that had gotten caught on his tail again. He fixed it so that the fluffy appendage was poking out of the slit they made in the material so that it wouldn't look so damn weird. Maybe they'd have to put some sort of elastic or something so that the tail wouldn't keep slipping out of the slit and showing off his backside to any passerby. This is why they had made him wear the bloomers instead of just panties when they first noticed the problem.

"Ah~ Pigeon is here too is she? I'm not surprised." He murmured, placing a hand on the little Hare's head.
"Me and Bunbun here...We're from the same place. I've been searching for him all over the place." Rex offered a toothy sort of smile.
"I must thank you for taking care of him." The King flicked some of the lace on the dress he'd been dolled up in. He contemplated the other red-head curiously, wondering what it would take to make him go away from here.
