A Fire in the Kitchen - That's a Good Thing, Right?
« on: July 29, 2010, 09:42:12 PM »
Seishin sighed as he stirred his latest creation. After proposing to Plague and moving properly to White City, he'd decided that perhaps he needed a job and Kokoro had encouraged him, but that meant he probably shouldn't have done it. His other self really hadn't wanted him around after the little boy, Nero, had shown up - and what a surprise that had been!

Yet, Kokoro seemed to almost expect it, had been waiting for it without telling anyone.

The white-haired vampire almost wondered what else Kokoro had been up to that he didn't let on to at all. In any case, Kokoro was part of the reason that Seishin was here, in the Hunter's Town, and working as a cook for the poor, overworked Hunting people. Their last cook was a poor, overworked vampire that hadn't had the sense to have someone taste the food before serving it and the Hunters really couldn't complain as they were too hungry to argue about anything that even ressembled food when they were that hungry.

Seishin had wandered in, looking for his daughter or perhaps his brother if possible, and found one Hunter who had finally realized that he had been eating horse shit marinated in moldy ketchup and was taking it up with the cook. After that, he wasn't quite sure what had happened but there had been a lot of shouting and pointing and "even this poor sod could cook better than you"s and then - before he knew it - he was in a vile kitchen with a lot of hungry, hungry Hunters waiting to be served.

At a later point that day, one of the Hunters from up top had paid him a visit, getting him signed up for the job and wages hashed out. He'd had to completely clean the kitchen from ceiling to two miles down into the plumbing, but he'd gotten it done. Now, his workplace was a clean machine for serving hot, delicious meals. The constantly full tip jar spoke of how much his work was appreciated even if he still had to threaten some of the ones who hunted vampires that gave him a hard time.

It was weird seeing Zig again, especially how he was.

Turning the heat up under his stew, Seishin continued stirring and thinking. He'd have to feed pretty quickly once he got home, but it was worth remembering the fascinating and recent past.

*popped into existence through fire and wondered why it smelled like food. The area was mildly familiar but gave him the creeps. His green-haired lover was off doing mysterious things and Kaji had gotten bored so he begged and pleaded until Sune let him try out his new way of transportation by traveling to the nearest burning fire. That got him where he was now under a pot with someone humming tunelessly under their breath.*

:D

{I did it! I diiiiiiiiiiid it!}

{{Yes yes but where have you gotten us? Haven't you learned anything since those bastard Hunters caught you?}}

{Aw don't be mean Sune! The closest fire couldn't be anywhere near that place since we've been traveling the opposite direction FOR-EV-ER! Relax. Take it eeeeeeaaaassyyyyyy!}

*Sune sighed and mentally rolled her eyes. Why did she adopt this child playing at being a powerful force of nature?*

{I know what you're thinking and it's because you LOVE MEH!}

:D

{Admit it!}

*just then someone took the pot off the stove and revealed Kaji in his fire form. His eyes went wide as he stared at the familiar person with the potholders.*

SEI SEI!

*assuming his normal form, Kaji jumped off the stove and tackled his friend and squealed with unending GLEE*

ZOMG! SEISEISEISEISEISEISEISEISEISEISEISEISEISEISEISEISEISEISEISEISEI!!!!!!!!!!! DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUDE!!!!!!!!!!!

*Sune sighed but stayed hidden and strangely tired just from listening to her host making that annoying and highpitched sound.*

KAJI: I's the FIRE ELEMENT!
SUNE: *smacks him upside the head* Don't tell everyone.

Being suddenly tackled, Seishin wasn't quite sure what to do, but the very familiar voice screeching in his ear gave him some idea. At least he had put the pot of stew down just before the blue-haired dork popped out of nowhere to glomp him.

"Kaji?" The vampire managed to peel the fire element off of him to get a good look at his friend that he hadn't seen in what seemed like years. "Where did you even come from? I didn't hear any doors and all of a sudden you're all over me. Where's Sune? Poison? Kira? How did you get in here? Isn't it dangerous? Where have you been?!"

Just looking at him, it seemed as if nothing had changed, especially since he was still squealing happily, but he smelled different somehow. It was something that Kokoro had once described as "having known true misery" or something like that.

Dangerous? Whatcha talkin about BUDDY?! It's not like you'd be anywhere near Hunters being a vampire and all right? Right?

*Sune sighed and hoped that what she knew about the white-haired vampire was correct. He did seem like a responsible type of person even if he was realted to that other one named Kokoro. The both of them were odd but Seishin was easier to read.*

Poison is off being busy and I haven't heard from Kira in EVAH! We've been EVERYWhERE and NOWHERE and SomeWHERe and what's that burning smell?

*looked around*

Do you hear something? It sounds like a Hunters pounding on tables that they're hungry? That's WEIRD! Why are you looking at me like that?

"Go back through where you came from," Seishin hissed, grabbing Kaji and shoving him over to the oven before whirling around to grab the huge pot of stew again. "I'll see you another time, but you've got to get out of here!"

Marching to the door, he pushed it open with his tush and made his way to the serving platform as the door swung shut. Hopefully, no one would sense the fire element in there and Kaji would leave before anything bad happened. As much as he enjoyed the blue-haired male's antics, now was not the time for that.

Seishin set the pot down and smiled widely at the first in line. This was his job and it wasn't too bad.

Aw! I guess this isn't a good time.

D:

{{That's probably putting it mildly. Now that you've had your little trip can we go back to camp?}}

*pouting Kaji reverted to flame and flashed back to the camp fire he had been sitting in front of before their adventure*

{Do you think that was the Hunter's Town after all? What was Seishin doing there anyways?}

{{It looked like he was cooking for them. What does it matter? He did not ask for assistance so he most likely is not in need.}}

{I dunno.}
