Good things are left to forever be remembered
« on: August 25, 2010, 12:18:24 PM »

Yesterday Morning at approximatively 6:20 am an anime director by the name of Satoshi Kon passed away from pancreatic Cancer, he was 46. This information was given and I retrieved it from ANN (Anime News Network) the funeral is to be privet, only his family members are to attend.

He was the director of many awesome works which I was lucky to have a few of amongst them are Paprika, Tokyo Godfathers and many more.

He also left a Farewell message in his site, according to ANN however his site is under heavy traffic load right now. ANN however archived a copy, this is what they gave from the beginning of his message.

"May 18 of this year, an unforgettable day.

My wife and I received the fallowing prognosis from a cardiologist at the Musashiro Red Cross Hospital:

'The pancreatic Caner is terminal and has metastasized to the bone. You have at most a half year left.' "

According to ANN he was to be working on directing an anime called Yume-Miru Kikai, this was the final anime he was to be working on, he held a meeting with MADHOUSE founder Masao Maruyama about this final directed work by him. This is another part of his farewell message.

"When I Conveyed my concerns for Yume-Miru Kikaito Mr. Maruyama, he said, 'It's fine. Don't worry. We'll do whatever it takes."

I cried.

I cried aloud."

At the end of the article held by ANN the posted the final words of the anime director.

"With feelings of gratitude for all that is goo in this world, I put down my pen.

Well, I'll be leaving now.

Satoshi Kon."

It is always saddening to lose people who have put their lives to do what they love, specially when it comes to animes that leave you with your moth wide open. His work will carry is memory as well as all his fans and people who had the honor to work with him.

.... I am a little astonished about this. I had no idea that Mr. Kon was ill.... It is always a pitty if someone has to die on an early age, especially if he is loved and gifted.
To be honest, I did not very much like Paprika, but I was a big fan of Tokyo God Fathers. The man had his own style in everything he did, which is what I admired in his work.
May he rest in peace.
I wanna be like other girls.
I wanna see what other girls see!
Just to be free like other girls... get to be...

Didn't like Paprika? I liked it very much! That is definitely one movie with the right ideas! You could never tell what was going to happen next and left you wondering if the creators were on drugs or something! Kind of like 'Cat Soup'.  :D

It isn't, sometimes we happen to just completely miss something ya know. Defenetly however Samir you should really try to watch at least Tokyo God Fathers.
