Akatsuki no Kiba: When wielding this blade alone, Areaes has the intentions of fighting for the sake of violence. The blade appears to be a beautiful, ebony Nihon-to with a similar sheath. The edge of the blade appears to be blunted slightly; however, it's true ability comes from its nature to channel the negative aspects of his aura to create the 'Dance Macabre.' This attack is an intricate series of sword slashes that resonate negative aura, feeding of his darker emotions, to create wave-length slashes of various degrees through a pivoting circular motion...creating the illusion of him dancing around his opponent as their bodies are ripped to shreds from the pressure of the cuts alongside the burning of the dark energy.
Ultimate Technique: Fang of the Blood Moon Howl
The ultimate ability able to be used through this particular blade, the Fang of the Northern Moon Howl is a combination technique of pure swordsmanship and a detonating aura pulse wave. A set of sixteen swordslashes sent in rapid succession are followed by a final vertical slash channeling the full of his negative aura, exploding upon contact to create the physical manifestation of a giant ookami devouring the opponent in the final swing. Has tremendous strain on his body afterwards.
Kiba no Tenrai: A pearl white nihon-to with a similar sheath. When wielding this blade alone, Areaes is aiming to protect something or fight purely on the defensive side. Unlike it's twin, this beautifully crafted long katana has no blunted end although it never physically tears anything...however a strike from it's blade cuts at the soul of the opponent and can also be used to transfer positive aura from Areaes to heal if necessary (with appropriate cost to his own soul). The Initial Strike for the Kiba no Tenrai is the 'Dance of Souls' which is more of a battojutsu strike, taking the blade of the sword from intense speeds and channeling a spiritual aura through the blade to cleave the soul of the opponent. It can be altered into a thrust if necessary; the same principle can be applied to charge positive aura from Areaes to heal a comrade.
Ultimate Technique: Fang of the Silver Moon Howl
This is the ultimate technique of the Kiba no Tenrai is exactly identical to the Fang of the Blood Moon Howl in every way except that it does no physical damage; rather, all the damage is done to the spirit of the opponent while preserving the body in its entirety. It can also be used to revive someone who has died within a month time period; however, the cost is taxing to his own soul.
Pandemonium: When wielding Pandemonium, Areaes is considered to be in his true Hitokiri Battousai state. The path of this weapon is one of lapsing sanity, death, and blood lust to the highest degree; the weapon itself was made from his master's fang and as such he has yet to unlock the abilities behind its true potential...but it seems to react to his aura.
Background: Areaes was born to a rather prominent Ookami-yokai family during the fuedal period of Japan; however, despite the peaceable nature his clan held towards humans they were attacked by demon slayers with him as the only surviving member. He was about ten years old at the time, and it was during this period that he met the woman who would alter his destiny and give him something to believe in once more...Psychopath Sora, the Human Slayer. She was a wolf demoness without peer when it came to her sadistic, blood thirsting tendencies or her own mastery of the scythe, whip, and blades...and could be most noted for her charming black dragon pet Afu. During a routine massacre she came across the pup running from humans and saw a reflection of herself at those years and decided to take him as her apprentice; however, the term apprentice was more of a guise to protect the young yokai without any intention of him learning her ways until an incident with an old rival almost cost Areaes his life. From that moment forward she raised him to be excellence incarnate and had his own personal weapons crafted...two of his own fangs and one of hers before they were ambushed by the human armies and separated. Years later, when he was nearing adulthood, he escaped and began to take on the title of his sensei and the only woman he had ever come to love in any sense before being swallowed by a magical rift in the dimensions..taking him to a land covered in desert that had yet to be tainted by the path of a Master Manslayer.
