A Saki Tale of Muru beginnings
« on: April 16, 2010, 12:12:17 AM »
A young boy had just began his training for the airal combat that was bound to happen sooner or later out in the middle of nowhere. Why had they been fighting such a battle for so long no one in their battalion or even in the whole intelligence office knew about it any more. All of the old farts that had began the battle so long ago had all been killed in action during the first strike. After many months of constant looking for their home base the central intelligence office had finally located their base and in a few minutes every available officer and soldier able to fight will be going off to battle once more.

The alarm Had been going off for several minutes too, the alarming sound that caused every soldier to run to their post and begin the attack, of course the advance team had already been deployed to do a recon on the enemy but they had yet to return. In his body he could feel the events of that first time replaying once again but now he would be the one to depart and not his great grandpa and grandma and he will leave behind no one to miss him.

Upon the great deck where everyone was being assembled small children and wives had began to give their bitter farewell to the husbands and the good looking single girls were saying their farewells to the soon to be single guys if everything repeated itself like the last time. Well everyone in deck seem to have that same gloomy feeling in the ways their eyes looked upon their families. The siren was finally going off even faster and more louder as the time drew near for departure.

He was nothing but a scrawny and rather weak boy to top it off. Why did was he sent to this hell hole, he could not understand, perhaps it was because he had great pride in his great grandma. and great grandpa. Well no one will miss someone like him, except his mother and father but they were all busy off living the life now with him gone. Well it was bound to happen, almost all the parents in this world would go off to live the life when the children were no longer their responsibility, but there wasn't even a proper farewell either.

The sound of the alarm was not a calming sound of a farewell from the base, and the way everyone looked felt as if death had marked this whole civilisation completely. if they couldn't destroy the base then the counter attacks will surely destroy everyone here. So this mission was of the biggest priorities and al of their military had been mobilised just for this first mission to succeed. Of course the cadets were saluting them as they went off into war. The young male took in a sigh of the air around him, it all felt thick and he wasn't able to breathe properly anymore, he felt really sick to his stomach knowing that he may be going to his death.

The footsteps of another set of group approaching began to resonate across the ears of murusaki, it was the elite 10. 10 of the best soldiers this army had to offer and the ones who were surely to come back, all of the lowly soldiers like himself were for the protecting and aiding of these 10 elites. Even their personal ships were state of the art with the greatest speed and mobility anyone had to offer, of course his ship wasnt bad either. During the lonely nights the young male had been reconstructing the gears of his ship as a way to pass the time, of course no one knew of this but today he was going to finally experience how well his mechanic skills were.

Everyone at the base finally saluted the soldiers that were going to make their way into battle against the unknown. Over 10 million soldiers, out of all of them 10 were the elites, and over 500,000 officers of the highest ranks. and the rest average soldiers of course.  this was going to be an invasion if possible but nothing was written since the last time the same magnitude of force was sent without anyone returning. of course there were no elite 10 at that time or any preparation of war either. but this time they had prepared fully, or at least what the Central intelligence had advised them.

The sounds and waves of each vehicle began to make the air around everyone perturbed and with great force as all soldiers had finally made their way to their personal aircraft. The night of day felt refreshing, and the mind of the young male murusaki began to accept the fact that such a moment would be nice for his grave to be formed. The alarming beeping of his vehicle showed that it was ready to begin the attack, The vessel upon which they will be carried upon finally arrived and all aircrafts were attached to it. His own vessel was dragged by a magnetic force into the middle of the bunch. The metamorphic material of the large vessel made it easier for the aircrafts to move and be ready in case of an attack.

The vessel departed finally leaving behind all the families that were defendless and the cadets that were still being taught how to walk in their uniforms, hopefully they will learn fast enough to provide support in the coming war. The base was falling behind in his peripheral view until finally the lonely sound of the gears running from his own aircraft. The space about his view was dark and silent, only the rushing fluid of their aircrafts being carried across the long space until the enemy will appear.

-----

With the alarming sound coming from the controls Murusaki opened his eyes to the beginning of his own death. The individual aircrafts at the front of the vessel had began to be dispatched quickly and it was approaching his own as well. With his hands firmly gripped upon the control of the modified ship he was launched into the enemy space. The rush was fast as the vessel that was protecting them began to disintegrate as it entered enemy territory. The technology of the enemy was powerful eough to destroy the great vessel upon which it carried them, truly a powerful foe that they were going up against. It was not a wonder why the first attack long ago was a failure, such a thought that began to run through murusaki as his own ship passed the barrier into the enemy territory with the greastest of speed so that his fate will not be similar to that of the vessel that was nothing more after it had done its purpose.

How long will it take for the people back home to construct such a magnificent vessel was no longer a worry to him, neither was the gears of his own spaceship or the fact about what he was going to eat later tonight. The approaching enemy ships were more concerning than the fact that he had not eat or that he left his room a mess and his food just laying there. the next cadet to inherit his room will probably be going off about what a pig he was. The space upon which they had landed even felt different, heavy and hard to move against that even the fastest of ship felt like they were going at normal speeds. Some of the ships from in front were beginning to follow a pattern upon which their formation of attack was rather clumsy even though they had planned such a strategy for long period of time.

The space was so silent and there was no resistance at all and this sudden silence cause mayhem upon many of the soldiers in the first wave of attack, and made the line falter in many crucial points of their formation. Yet the army travelled further into the depths of the enemy territory until they realized the grave error of their own assumptions. The enemy did not planned out to fight in a head to head war, instead they lured them massive army into their familiar territory and slowly but successfully surrounded the army until they began the attack from behind and the sides.

The soldiers at the far sides began to engage the enemy as quickly as they could but the enemy vessels were far more powerful than they had expected. The soldiers were falling too fast for them to count the losses and behind them the enemy has complete sealed off any form of retreat. Upon the eyes of Murusaki, a slight hope for his well being began to arise as he saw that he was near one of the Elite ones, it was a girl whose excellent skills were unheard of, too many soldiers she was the perfect girl and to all officers, she was the perfect soldier.

His own vessel began to trail that of the elite one following her trail as best as he could though it was rather clumsy in his pattern of driving. It was true that the vessel upon which he had experimented had great mobility and enhanced speed but the driver itself was not up to the standards of the modified vessel but it helped dodge the enemy aircrafts that came rushing by. Hundreds of soldiers were killed in mere seconds by the power of the enemy without even reaching their base. yet this was expected but only in the two digit numbers not in the way they had fallen so easily and it was only the beginning.

Further into the enemy space, even more enemy crafts began appearing that were even powerful. They were almost 5 times bigger but their shields destroyed their airships so quickly, it would be bad to ram against them. over the Radio the commands were becoming scattered with news of the deaths of many people in different sections of the formation even in the middle where he was the enemy had already penetrated through.

Some of the radio frequencies had also gone quiet as the communicating aircraft were destroyed by the enemy behind them. The enemy ships were truly more powerful and faster than what anyone of them had ever imagined and now they were all suffering the consequences. But as expected the elite 10 were still intact and a few of them were in the first wave of attack by now. This information alone gave many soldiers the confidence that they could win and continue forward towards the enemy base.

-----

After many hours now, the voices on the radio had become scattered and few. From the latest news on the radio over half of army had been destroyed completely by the enemy and the death counts were still rising, letting all of them know that this war was a no prisoner war, it was either victory or death. From the Elite 10 of heroes in this war, already 2 of them had died in a glorious battle as explained in the radio before they were destroyed from the lack of protection that was created at the destruction of those elite soldiers. The 500,000 commanding officers were the ones to have almost been completely annihilated completely as they stayed behind and fought off the enemy to give their soldiers a chance of escape or continue forward. now there was barely over 1000 left to give out commands.

The ship began to shut down even though there was no enemy base. Murusaki looked over his equipment and did repairs as best as he could while trying to keep up with the elite soldier in front of him though she was getting farther and farther ahead of him. Finally after a silent sound of about an hour and countless fighting there was a transmission from the people all the way in front 'we are near the enemy base, and have found two different paths to take in this space formed by the enemy. please choose accordingly and fight till the end" and that was the last transmission to ever be heard from again.

Under the silent night and the silent screams of those that perished behind the remaining airships continued onwards towards the base in hopes of destroying the enemy and once and for all win over this enemy so that they may return home once again. Far off in the distance many of the airships had began to steer off into the right or into the left and there was a strange land  in the middle that separated both spaces. Without the communication system the army was sure to be split in half and the closer he got to the critical point of decision the more murusaki just wanted to go straight and crash into the planet and let it be done with.

From the hundreds of ships in front of murusaki one golden one of the Elites steered into the left and continued onwards. With the thought of life, death of suicide, Murusaki under the silent night choose to follow that girl. If there was anyone with any hope of surviving this it will be here so it was best to follow her and hope that she was not going into a deeper hell than the enemy that was trailing behind. The darkness of space was becoming more and more silent but one thing was for certain, somewhere up ahead there was sure to be the enemy base or another ambush waiting to happen. Many of the airships around him had already began to fail and crash land on various parts of lands that he could see once in a while.

----

Even more hours seem to have passed and the lonely nights were the most damaging parts of this crusade. The only light that came from any was that of his controllers and that he could see somewhere in the distance of his fellow mates or of crashed airplanes that flickered for help. The enemy was sure to be smart about how to completely destroy this army, now he knew why the first strike had failed to make it back home, such lonely times spent here was sure to drive anyone mad. Off in the distance the only thing he followed was that of the Elite girl whom was his only chance of survival, of course it somewhat helped that there were a few more airships behind him  so he hap hopes that he was not the only one left.

Many thoughts about how many were left had began to pass through the minds of soldiers that was for sure, but no one knew truly how many had survived, and no one knew that the all 9 of the Elite 10 had already died in battle and the remaining one was that which Murusaki followed with hopes of survival. More than 10 million aircrafts and now there was barely 20 that could be seen in the horizon. The Distance between that girl and murusaki widened even more as his aircraft began to sound of alarms of failure in every single direction.

With desperation Murusaki went on to fix every gear, and control part that was slowly being damaged but he was unsure as to the reason. The readings on the environmental control showed that the space was composed of something that was slowly breaking apart his aircraft and it lessened his chances of being able to return back home even further. His eyes could tell that this truly was going to be where his grave was going to happen, the death of muru muru who didnt even had a care in the world until today. The lonely nights was finally emerging him in despair and solitude of his mind.

As the time continued to pass, finally more activity began appear on the screen that was still working. somewhere in the distance the enemy had appeared once again, well at least this was going to be a fitting end to a soldier. This time however the enemies were in front of him, ready to fight off the intrusion and of course it was that massive ships that destroyed the ships so easily. Grabbing onto what was functioning left of his airship, Murusaki began to manoeuvre across the fields were even more of his fellow comrades were already fighting and dying in battle with glorious deaths. It seem that everyone had the same mind set, if they couldn't go back then death in battle to destroy the enemy deep in the core was the best action.

Even the Girl he had been following with all of his hopes was seen fighting somewhere in the distance with what seem to be a round object larger than anything he had seen before. It was during this sight that the young male began to realise why there were more enemies there and why it was all around the such a large object. The enemy base had been found by their army, over 10 millions soldiers were 500,000 were officers and 10 were of the elites, only a little more than 1000 soldiers of which one was an elite had actually made it was to the enemy base. no one knew where the other half of the army was, but if only this much survived then on the other path he was sure no had survived or will survive the trip back. Well no one was going to survive back, there were thousands of enemies still left where the initial battle had began and for only a thousand to try and make it back, it was impossible to fight off all of them where 10 millions barely made it.

It was a time of death, that was for sure. nothing left to do but strike and strike hard and hope that when they destroy the enemy base that they will all be given a safe passage way home. With his ship that was falling to pieces and being damaged even further by the surrounding enemies the small airship made it way towards the enemy base along with the rest lucky man and woman that was breaking through the enemy lines.

The sight of the large base finally became apparent as Murusaki's ship finally came close to it, the surface of the ship was transparent and within the inside large equipments lay there. Such a civilisation that the enemy was composed of was fairly more advanced than what he had originially thought, everything was artificial life itself, enemies that took command of a large machine base that was alive. Perhaps no one in this army could realise such beauty but to Murusaki it felt like a dream come true, to see the way that such a land can advance to greatly, he was sure to salvage their knowledge after they won, if they won.

With his ship now running forwards towards the enemy base at full speed, many of his own comrades did the same thing as they were all aiming to destroy such a beautiful contraption that laid before them.  It was during this time that Murusaki realised that his weapon systems were not activated, in fact he realised that there were no way to fight at all. how could he have not seen this? he finally understood what his airship did, they were meant to penetrate and destroy the enemy from inside, but how could they fight against something that was destroying them so quickly? he was sure that the enemy base would have something similar.

With a loud scream, he knew that this was his end, and with a full speed across the surface of the base, he directed his ship into its rough surface. His ship was somehow hard and didn't explode on the crash instead it penetrated through the outer layer of the transparent substance and soon found himself stuck in between. His ship was still running against the layer trying to get to where the machinery unit and central processing unit of the base was. He rammed his ship against the base even further, and penetrating even further. True he wanted a quick death but now he was angry to not have died like that. to his side he saw may of his comrades also hitting the enemy base and dying or getting killed by the large enemy ships that were grazing upon their ships. He wasn't going to let the screams of his comrades get to his mind, for now his mission was to get inside and win a complete victory.

He configured his ship even further to give him more drive and power to his ship so as to penetrate even deeper and finally reach into the hull of the base and his ship broke through with its last effort before Murusaki jumped inside. The wiring about this place was full of unexpected lights that mesmerised his vision. A light voice spoke into his mind and soon after he fainted completely. letting his body fall to the ground upon which he was standing, the artificial life that controlled all soon picked him up along with another that had also made its way at the same time. A blood sample taken from both of them as it injected something into the space upon which the base was in.

Soon after, the toxic air began to destroy the small enemy airships that were still trying to reach the enemy base. Out of the 1000 soldiers that had made their way to the enemy base, only two now survived, the ones inside the enemy base. With the sounds of the machines running it woke up the young male that was now inside a test tube filled with a liquid that kept him alive. Unable to move, his eyes could only adjust to what was happening outside, captured alive so this was going to be how his death will be? stuck in a lab for the rest of his lifetime. The same distinct voice was heard once again as there were alarming noises nearby, the bubbles that he produced made him unable to see clearly until he had to hold his breath for a couple of moments.

It was then he realised that one of the elites, the girl he had been following was in another one of the test tubes, but there was a strange red light blinking on her. Over and over it blinked and the alarms sounded until finally the liquid drained from her test tube and she fell to the soft ground. Murusaki knew right away what had happened, whatever it was that this artificial machine was doing to them, this girl had not survived it and now she laid there dead. How was it that he had survived when she did not? it was a question left unanswered it seemed.

The machine moved it glowing wires around the dead girl now, extracting her blood and injecting it into a small tube that connected into Murusaki's test tube. Somehow the machine knew that she was very valuable and now whatever it was she possessed was going to be passed down into Murusaki. The gentle voice once again spoke with words that murusaki could not comprehend, and it was the last words that he would ever hear again.

"For this is a miracle, to have two gods achieve the same goal at the same time. You my sweet boy shall from now on become the God of Cause and Effect. She was meant to be the God of Cause, and you the God of Effect, but now you are both one. To you know dont know anything about this world young one, you were not truly fighting a war, you were simply following what nature dictates. Everything that you knew and saw is only the subconscious. You my dear are the subconscious and now I shall give you the physical body and beating of the heart as we combine together into the world"

With those words that were soothing, Murusaki began to fall slowly into a deep dream. His thought began to grow more and more inside something that were full of glowing wires, was his body now connected to the machine? he could not know, but he felt something changing within him. his body was not the same any-more, only his thought were still there like a big dream upon which he would soon wake up...
